The course begins with an introduction to international commercial contracts, the characteristics of contracts, the elements of contracts. Inter alia, international payment methods, international delivery methods, alternative dispute resolution methods, governing law, force majeure rule, insurance and settlement issues will be discussed. In addition to this, the students shall be aware of international transfer of goods, CISG rules, rules regarding the methods to be employed in case of conflict. They will also learn issues such as arbitration and institutional arbitration, ad hoc arbitration. After this course the students shall be able to draft, to review or to present a legal opinion on an international commercial contract.
